Modular, reusable and easy to maintain.

From the architectural concept, we derive a schematic. According to the specifications and parameters such as size, resources, noise and electromagnetic interference, we draw up the circuit board layout for your assemblies. This is especially critical for the functioning of the product when designing complex high-speed or mixed-signal systems. 

Prototypes, test and production.

Before production starts we evaluate circuit board layouts and signal processing chains with modern tools such as Agilent ADS and AWR Microwave Office for RF-layouts. Through the simulation, complications are detected and corrected early on. This saves time and money in additional development steps.

Based on a prototype, we check compliance with the specifications and requirements. We compare the performance of your hardware with the simulation results and optimize the system for series production. And during the production itself we also plan multiple iterations of prototypes. You benefit at an early stage from pre-release versions of your development for integration testing in your overall system. We develop a product for you that is ready to enter series production and that corresponds both to your specific and statutory requirements. The results of our tests form the basis of the series documentation and are integrated into the production.

Our longtime partner produces the circuit boards, then we take care of the mounting of the components for prototypes and small series. With modern Pick-and-Place-Machines or steady and practiced hand we place all the components at the designated position. When your product is ready for volume production, we entrust them to our established partner for the assembly process.

Don’t let the quality assurance during production bother you. We supervise the whole process. And all you have to do is, look forward to your functioning and fully tested delivery.

Extremely short innovation cycles impose high requirements on research and development. But: If your a step ahead during the development of software-based functions, you benefit from decisive advantages.

The key: Systematic testing. During each step of the development process. This saves time, money and resources. With AED Engineering you automate your test cycles for the validation of your ECU according to your individual requirements - without interfering with internal interfaces of your system.

Our experienced testing and validation specialists are unrelenting sleuths. They do not rest until they have tracked down errors, notified the appropriate developer, and had the error recognized as such. That may sound severe, but is built upon the foundation of good teamwork where all team members benefit from an eagerness to help and the above average transfer of know-how.

Checking systems and extending verification processes.

Systems must meet the specified requirements. We not only verify compliance but also utilize suitable protective processes dependent on the system and stage of development. We regularly repeat standard tests, expand testing processes, and automate practical scenarios. Ultimately, we are well-versed in the development and use of test systems and test sequences.

We test and verify individual modules and as well as entire systems. Our top priority? Exhaustive and unambiguous specifications, which we verify in their entirety. It is of paramount importance that we fully understand the system to be secured, including all its requirements and validation processes. Our understanding of system enables us to conduct not only standardized testing but also targeted system tests.

In our division for test automation we developed a building kit for test benches. Our demonstration systems can therefore be fitted to your individual need. With little effort it can all be put together to a test stand according to your requirements and test cases. Certainly you can also personalize your test reports, thus the tracking and analysis is simplified.

To ensure all your functionalities are tested reliably and efficiently our user-friendly Interface provides you with various test options. Depending on your requirements for the specific test case the test sequences can be conducted manually, semi-automated or completely autonomously. 

Due to the modular hard- and software architecture your system can be adjusted and enhanced even after it’s already up and running.

Munich in 2006: The corner of a living room. A computer. Printer. Fax machine. Initial project diagrams, offers. And a big dream envisioned by engineer Carlos Urquizar, now Managing Director of AED Engineering GmbH. He dreamed of a company that demands a lot from passionate engineers, but also fosters them. He dreamed of a company whose financial success is built on the abilities of motivated, content employees. He dreamed of a company whose own creativity gives rise to technological advances.

A growing staff and in-house R&D.

The dream became reality in the same year. The first electrics/electronics project for the automotive industry resulted in a long-term partnership. The living room was abandoned for a proper office, renovated by the director and his first employees. Despite the recession in 2009, the young company finished the year with record profits, more employees, and an in-house research and development department.

Cross-sector engineering.

Our approach continues to pay off. We now employ 50 people, most of them engineers. Our team specializes in embedded system development for the automotive, aviation, medical technology, and telecommunications industries. Our staff’s creative know-how is diverse: from the architecture of on-board electrical systems through driver-assistance systems to wireless sensors. Our flexible organizational structure ensures that every customer’s project benefits fully from this know-how.
